Want less traffic on Front Beach Road? Panama City Beach officials say public trolleys are key

PANAMA CITY BEACH — To reduce traffic on Front Beach Road, a public transportation system could be around the corner for the Beach.
That is, once the Front Beach Road Community Redevelopment Area Plan is complete.
"The tram is worthless until the CRA is complete," Beach City Councilman Michael Jarman said. "You've got to be able to get from one end of the Beach to the other unobstructed for it to be useful at all."
They include widening Front Beach Road to three and four lanes, along with installing sidewalks, bicycle lanes, enhanced lighting, new street signs and landscaped medians, according to the city's website.
