Dimapur, Nov. 23 (EMN): With an aim to promote culture, tourism, textile and talents of Northeast people, the Delhi Fashion club (DFC) Dimapur in association with Nagaland Garo Tribal Council (NGTC) jointly organised a fashion sequence ‘International Reinvent Northeast’ in Dimapur on Nov. 22. An update issued on Nov. 22 informed that the fashion sequence was held during the two-day Wangala cum 1st Mini Hornbill Festival held in Dimapur on Nov. 21 and the 22nd. Prior to the festival, auditions were held in Nagaland and Meghalaya wheren 19 models were selected. 18 models were from the Garo tribe living in Nagaland and one from Shillong. The selected models underwent training and grooming workshop sessions organised by DFC in association with Lakme Academy, GS Road, Guwahati for 2 days in Dimapur. The show included the promotion of colourful handlooms and cultural Garo traditional fusion wear amalgamated with Garo tribal accessories. During the event, DFC selected 6 models namely Holina Momin, Molina Momin, Vinitoli, Shilla Ch Marak, Tunali and Momulin to be the DFC models for upcoming events.
