Walk-in COVID-19 vaccines available Saturday in Hamilton

HEATH TWP. — The Allegan County Health Department is holding a vaccination clinic in Hamilton Saturday, May 1. 
The clinic will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hamilton High School at 4911 36th Avenue in Hamilton. Walk-ins will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., depending on vaccine supplies. 
“The COVID-19 vaccine is a safe and effective tool,” said Allegan County Health Officer Angelique Joynes. “Our community is heading in the right direction of herd immunity with 36% of people fully vaccinated in Allegan County.”
As of April 27, about 46 percent of Allegan County individuals have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. ACHD has a goal of 70 percent of all eligible Allegan County individuals vaccinated by end of 2021. That percentage is believed to be a starting point for establishing herd immunity.
