Eight firefighters are being treated for minor injuries after the fastmoving fire ripped through a home. The fire broke out on east 232nd street in the edenwald section. Eyewitness News Reporter a. J. Ross talked to a woman that lived there. A. J. You have the latest. Reporter shirleen, david, those families inside the home are devastated this afternoon still on scene waiting to hear what if anything may be salvaged. Behind me there is a great deal of firefighters on scene. They have ladders up continuing with the hot spots. Witnesses say it was a fast and furious blaze that quickly spread through this home. Our chopper got the shots overhead as multiple flames shot out tuesday morning. Francine lives on the top floor with her family. Her 16yearold son left the house before the flames broke out. Fortunately everyone inside the Building Made it out safely before firefighters arrived. The source of the blaze is under investigation. It originated in the basement or first floor and quickly spread throughout the structure. The assistant fire chief says eight firefighters were taken to jacobi with minor injuries and they had to stretch hose lines because of the difficulty in the perimeter surrounding this home. Now, fortunately we know it was no other injuries incurred by People Living inside. At one point the blaze was upgraded to four alarms. Right now we did just see the red cross arrive on scene. I am told by some of the fire victims that temporarily they will be staying with family. Fire marshals are also here again trying to determine the source of the blaze. Many of them were parents who were dropping off kids for the first day of school and a new location. Inspectors say nobody is allowed in until they are convinced its safe. Nearly 24 hours after the crash, there are still serious questions about the Structural Integrity of the building. Even as workers struggle to shore it up. Across the street, the skidmarks tell the story. Neighbors and bystanders joined firefighters to get the stunned passengers out of the bus and on to stretchers. The bus slammed head long into the building in a blast of bricks, glass and dust. The driver was pinned inside the wreckage. He had to be rescued by firefighters with heavy equipment. Witnesses said he had been cut off by another motorist. The casino bus was in the bus line as he should be. The guy in the lane next to him was going to make a right and he went to right the right right in front of him.
