Thank you. 4 32. We have breaking news, firefighters pull a toddler out of a burning building in brooklyn overnight. Eyewitness News Reporter dray clark live in marine park with what we know right now. Good morning. Reporter good morning ken, that 2yearold was rushed to beth israel hospital in very Critical Condition. Eyewitnesses tell us that emts did try to resuscitate the little 2yearold in front of happened. Lets take a look at the house here. You can see where the fire happened here in the 3700 block of avenue p. The fire broke out around 1 15 and was placed under control at around 1 45. Eyewitnesses tell us there were two men who ran inside the home to try and help the family. One man was walking the dog and saw the smoke. Another neighbor who lives across the street also ran over to help. Both men rushed into the home with the intent on saving that 2yearold, but the smoke was so intense that it pushed them back outside of the house. The Fire Department arrived here very quickly according to those witnesses and ultimately it was a a firefighter who rushed inside that burning home and found the 2yearold and removed the 2yearold from inside the house. Eyewitnesses tell us that for quite some time there emts were doing their best to try and resuscitate the 2yearold who is at the hospital. Heres more from one of those men who rushed inside the home. He was more than willing to share his story. Say to us. People screaming my little brother, my little brother. Im like what happened to your little brother. They say hes upstairs in the room. When i looked upstairs all i can see is smoke gushing out the window. Me and another guy rushed into the house. We try to break the door. We back off. Theres too much smoke. That was one of two men who rushed inside that home hoping to save that 2yearold who he says is a little boy. Were still waiting on confirmation of that. It was a very quick fire. Certainly it caused significant damage to the home. Right now fire investigators and the nypd remain on the scene trying to determine a cause. Developing now investigators are questioning two teenagers after a pellet gun shooting near Gracie Mansion last night. One of those pellets struck a Police Officer in the back. Police say she was hit in the lower back and had some bruising. She was taken to the hospital just to be checked out. Again, she is doing just fine this morning. Police tell me at no point was mayor de blasio ever in danger. The mayor and the first lady of new york city were actually out of town this weekend. They brought their son dante to college. Police say two 19yearolds, a man and woman were taken into custody and are being questioned about this shooting. Today begins the three day process for sentencing james holmes, the murderer who killed 12 people and injured 70 others in a colorado movie theater. 100 victims and witnesses are expected to testify about the crimes impact on their lives. The trial judge will sentence holmes to life on 24 counts of first degree murder, two for each of those killed. The first family is back in washington after their annual Summer Vacation in marthas vineyard. President obama has a lot of work ahead of him. Police in Oklahoma City say marcus stello was stabbed to death by his son in a restaurant. The suspect is one of the victims five children. Police have not said what may have led to the stabbing. 4 49 right now, a Louisiana State trooper is in Critical Condition, the victim of a shotgun blast to the face. Authorities say Trooper Steven vincent was shot yesterday afternoon about 20 miles from the texas border. Suspect kevin dagle is charged with attempted murder. He shot vincent after the trooper approached dagles pickup truck sitting in a ditch. Good samaritans stopped to help vincent. Two men who made violent online threats against people attending the poke man world championships, the two men were stopped as they tried to enter the event. Police got a warrant to search their car and found the men had a 12 gauge shotgun, an ar15 rifle, several rounds of ammo and a hunting knife. Police in indiana are searching for suspects in the shooting death of the daughter of an antiviolence activist. She was sitting in a car outside an indianapolis mall when gunfire broke out. One fast thinking teenager in the apartment next to the where the fire started. I gave them towels to put on their mouth and then we were waiting for them to knock on the door and i just said keep it over your mouth as we go down the stairs so we dont inhale the smoke. Reporter good morning ken, neighbors tell us that 2year old is a little boy, and they say he was not doing well when he was rushed to beth israel hospital. We do know that emts did try to resuscitate that little boy right here in front of the home where the fire happened. Neighbors say there was a lot of smoke coming from the second floor of the home. There were two people, one guy who was walking his dog and noticed the smoke and another neighbor who lives across the street. Both of these men rushed inside the apartment there or the house i should say with the intent on saving that 2year old little boy, but they say the smoke was so significant, so intense it pushed them back out the house. The Fire Department was here in a very quick amount of time, and it was one of the firefighters who rushed in to save that 2yearold little boy. Heres more from one of the men who rushed inside the home. He did not want to show his face on camera, but he willing to share his story. The guy i told him the babys upstairs in the room. He put on his mask and the guy went upstairs. It took less than 2 minutes for him to bring the child outside. From the Fire Department. He brought the child outside and laid him on the grass. There was like four fireman and some ambulance start to perform cpr on the baby. Yeah, they performed cpr for quite some time and then rushed the 2yearold to beth israel and were still waiting for an update on his condition, but at last check he was in very Critical Condition. Here at the scene the fdny is here starting the investigative phase of what happened here trying to determine exactly how this fire broke out. So, again, a 2yearold rushed to the hospital in extreme condition, extreme Critical Condition after an Early Morning fire here in the marine park section of brooklyn. An officer was getting out of an unmarked car when she felt pain in her lower back. An 18yearold boy and 17year old girl have been questioned. There have been no arrests made. British police now say the death toll will probably rise to 11. Original reports were that seven people died when the fighter jet crashed on a busy road during a loop maneuver. Oregon National Guardsman alek skarlatos, Spencer Stone and a british businessman were honored for their selfless acts of courage. Last week these Three Friends made a split second decision to stop a gunman. We saw him cocking an ak47. Stone sprang into action. We hit the ground, alke came up and grabbed the gun out of his hand. I put him in a chokehold. It seems like he kept calling more weapons left and right. The gunman nearly severed stones hand with a box cutter but that didnt stop him from giving first aid to the british businessman who had been shot. French authorities have identified the gunman as ayoub elkhazzani, a moroccan national. The 25yearold was on a security watch list. The first blast came after midnight in a building that stored compressed gas. No word on why this happened, but video on Japanese Television showed a fire in the distance, subsequent explosions shooting small fiery blasts into the night sky. We are working to confirm whether anyone was hurt. There are new signs Vice President joe biden could be serious about jumping into the race for president. Martin omalley told George Stephanopoulos it would be nice to have biden in the race. Omalley says he has a great deal of respect for biden. Biden met with massachusetts senator elizabeth warren. It is thought that biden could have made a pitch for her support. Former president jimmy carter is given two back to back bible lessons to large crowds. At 5 32 we have breaking news in brooklyn, flames consume a home early this morning. A toddler is in Critical Condition. Eyewitness News Reporter dray clark is live at the scene. Reporter good morning michelle and ken. Fdny investigators are still on the scene trying to determine a cause of the fire. That 2yearold who suffered smoke inhalation remains in Critical Condition at beth israel. Heres a look at the home where the fire happened this morning. This is the 3700 block of avenue p here in the marine park section of brooklyn. The fire broke out around 1 15 this morning. Firefighters had it under control. There were two eyewitnesses. One who saw the smoke, the other who heard the commotion. Both of those men ran inside to the second floor of the home hoping to rescue that 2year old little boy, but the smoke house. The Fire Department was very quickly. It was a firefighter who ultimately ran inside the home and was able to locate the 2 yearold and bring him out of the house. We do know that emts resuscitated that young man and condition. Heres more from one of the men who ran inside the home trying boy. All the people screaming, my little brother, my little brother. So i was like what happened to your little brother right. Room. When i looked upstairs all i could see is smoke gushing out the window, right, so me and another guy, another caucasian guy, me and him rushed into the house. When we rushed into the house we tried to break the door. I told him no, lets back off. Theres too much smoke. That smoke he says was very intense, and he was happy to see the Fire Department arrive just seconds later after they had to leave the house because of the smoke. Kala rama is live on the Upper East Side with the latest on that. Reporter michelle, good morning, since the incident happened, that female officer has been released from the hospital. Shes doing just fine this morning, but let me show you where this happened. You see at the end of the block, thats the driveway to Gracie Mansion. That officer was pulling into the driveway in an Unmarked Police cruiser, and when she got out of the car she felt something hit her in the back. Then she discovered she was hit by a pellet from a pellet gun. She was hit in the lower back and had some bruising. She was taken to the hospital just to be checked out. Police tell me at no point was mayor de blasio ever in any danger. The mayor and the first lady of new york city are actually out of town. They were out of town this weekend bringing their son dante to college. Heres what we know about whos responsible for this pellet gun shooting incident outside Gracie Mansion. Police say two 19yearolds, a man and a young woman were taken into custody and are being go ahead about the shoot being questioned about the shooting. Were also told they may live in the area. They may live in a building here across from Gracie Mansion. Were told they are still looking into this. Officers will hopefully have more information for us about a possible arrest coming later today, and well learn about that later this morning. These pictures came into the Eyewitness News room a few hours ago. These men are among five who beat and kicked a man in the street in front of a deli on utica avenue in Crown Heights saturday morning. The man died that afternoon. A fire in queens took a deadly toll killing the man and woman who became trapped in a home. The fire in far rockaway is under investigation because it spread with unusual intensity. By the time firefighters arrived flames were jetting out of six ground floor windows. Officials say the flames were fueled by clutter inside. It was terrible, but two cops came. They were the first persons to respond. They came in an unmarked car and tried valiantly to do whatever they could do, but they were not equipped, and the Fire Department their response relatively speaking was slow. The bodies of the man and woman were burned beyond recognition. A chaotic scene at a Music Festival on long island has left two concert goers hurt. Performed. Two women got trapped under a fence after the rapper jumped off the stage. The move caused the crowd to rush the stage. New Jersey State Police need your help in feigning a hit and finding a hit and run boater. This lake was hit saturday. The boat was badly damaged. It may have a white cabin and aluminum propeller. In the bronx seven people were hurt after a church van collided with a truck. The crash happened sunday morning on interstate 95. The impact ejected four people from the church van right on to the roadway. Police say the van clipped a box truck as it tried to exit the thruway suddenly. The truck crashed into a third car. The victims injuries are not lifethreatening. Now to a developing story, two climbers are dead after a 200foot fall in a National Park. The women died inside grand tee ton National Park this weekend. Authorities say they were trying to climb a 12,000 Foot Mountain saturday morning. A third member of their party was rescued. The group was not using a preferred route on the mountain. They were also climbing without ropes. This week marks ten years since Hurricane Katrina made landfall in the u. S. And people of the gulf, especially new orleans are still feeling the effects. The storm killed more than 1800 people and left behind 100 billion in damage. A decade later new orleans has rebuilt itself, but residents who stayed through the recovery say there is still a lot to be done. Fire aaron garner and emt janice garner face charges that include resisting arrest. A fight broke out over the weekend at Herbert Von King Park at bedstuy. One of the siblings disagreed with the arrest of a man and tried to punch an officer. Thats when the other sibling reportedly started punching the officer as well. Amtrak has boosted security procedures. The security measures included increasing passenger and baggage screenings. Amtrak will team one local state and federal authorities to share intelligence and exercises. Amtrak says the changes not due to any specific threat.
