He was issued a ticket by police and they confiscate it had drone. Still, there are so many people here asking what was it doing here in the first place . It had a camera on a swivel. We have no idea what it was filming or why it was there. Reporter witnesses say it was an invasion of privacy. It was spotted hovering near court street in Brooklyn Heights thursday. We were in just our office, its a Corner Office bordered by two sets of windows and our boss was like oh my gosh theres a drone outside our window. We all gathered around. Reporter becca saw this drone and it hovered for about 5 minutes outside her Office Window and disappeared. Its a little bit disconcerning i guess that theres someone peering into our windows but i dont know. I dont think theres serious concern. Its more like probably someone with a hobby. Reporter a man was seen standing on the roof nearby. That building is closed and under construction. Cameras across the street captured these pictures of the man presumed to be the operator of the drone. Harrisons supervisor called Building Management who quickly called police. There was a patient in the room and the drone was waiting at the window. It was right in front of the window. The patient is like what is that . What is that . The nurse saw and it shes like oh, my god. We just saw it flying around. It was scanning up and down windows and stuff. Reporter and a couple people asked me are there any laws for this . There are new faa rules being drafted to regulate drones. Making sure you maintain line of sight, operating a drone that i not over people, which of course people pointed out there were a lot of people on the sidewalk and the street when this is going on. A sunrise search warrant being deliver today the Staten Island home of 38yearold garland tyree triggered a six hour standoff after he set off a smoke bomb and fired at firefighters as they entered his home. Lieutenant james hays, a 31year veteran was struck and wounded in his calf and behind. Just before others could pull him out to safety. Minutes later dozens of officers converged on this community as tyree barricaded himself inside his basement apartment for hours. Police say tyree, a former gang member with 18 prior arrests fired what was later discovered to be an automatic ak47 three separate times throughout the standoffs as negotiate ors tried to diffuse the situation. He spoke to his girlfriend, sister and mother who was flown there. He said mom, im coming out. He told his sister he was coming out. Reporter he agreed to surrender peacefully. What happened next was anything but. Police say tyree instead came outside armed with a gun and body armor and began to fire at police again. They returned fire and discovered him dead near the entrance of his apartment. This is not the way we want these negotiations to end. Somebody asked the mayor why he didnt arrive at the hospital sooner to visit the wounded firefighter. This was his response. Were briefing you all on a very serious situation and thats just not a serious question. The mayor went to a gym in park slope for about 80 minutes before heading to the hospital. Sources tell eye witness news he was informed while at the gym that the firefighters injuries were likely to be minor. On Staten Island a man who posed as a doctor diagnosing and treating patients is under arrest. He pretended to be a doctor for the past three years and ran his fake practice out of a basement apartment in stapleton. He issued prescriptions to at least a hundred patients. We cannot find he has any professional schooling whatsoever. He said he had a relationship with an online university. We checked with that university and they claim to have no knowledge of him. A frightening manhole explosion caught on camera on a crowded street in manhattan. Repairs and inspections continuing right now at the sight of that blast on 9th avenue and what a blast it is. Eye witness News Reporter josh einiger is there tonight for us. Josh. Reporter rob, it was a spectacle here. Coned crews closed up this manhole for the first time in 12 hours since this happened. For the sense of force this explosion came with, lets look up five stories. Possibly the manhole cover itself went through that window sending a cascade of shattered glass to the sidewalk below. As onlookers gawked at the smoking manhole, they had no idea it was about to blow. As they ran for their lives you can hear the glass hitting the ground. Glass from a 5th floor window shattered by project tile from this blast. People were running on the street. They closed the street like one block that way and that way. Reporter coned blames a fire as they work to deal with that, several hours later it happened again at the northwest corner of the same intersection. Manhole cover apparently went as high as that building there across the street, came back down and smashed into this fire hydrant there. Thats basically the gist of it. Reporter the manhole cover landed on top of a fire hydrant. Heavy steel shattered. Firefighters briefly blocked 9th avenue. By the time it was open the damage was done. More than 14 blocks at a standstill at the height of a summer commute. Thank god nobody got hurt. Im surprised, actually. With the sound and it was so loud. I was just really surprised. Thank god. A chunk of that fire hydrant that was really broken into a whole bunch of chunks like this. You can imagine the force that manhole cover had behind it when it slammed into the hydrant. No one was hurt in either explosion as coned figures out what caused this. They have started to break down the scene for the night. Police say the suspect 40yearold alvaro had already fondled himself and approached the victim inside the train and tried to rape her on the platform after the doors opened. I just picked him up and tried to take him to the Police Precinct and she was following and crying. Reporter he remains humble but his mom could not be prouder. Overnight temperatures that have gone from near 90 degrees during the afternoon down now into the 60s and 70s will fall off. We could get spots in the low 60s. White plains and over monticello. Some of the spots are cooler and we get a head start tomorrow with the temperatures. Were also watching carefully these numbers. The dew points. This is the measure of humidity in the atmosphere. How much moisture its holding. When we get in the 50s and 60s we can look at the dew point scale and that makes things uncomfortable. It gets sticky and during the day tomorrow were in the uncomfortable range and could hit oppressive by the end of the weekend.
