A student at W.C. Friday School near Dallas brought a gun to school Tuesday, according to a letter shared with parents.
"Unfortunately, we had a student bring a gun on campus. When we were informed that the student had a weapon, we immediately involved our school resource officer, began investigating the incident, and contacted the student’s parents," Gaston County Schools wrote in a statement.
It is important to note that we did not experience any problems as a result of this incident; however, we realize that something like this can be upsetting for students, parents, and staff."
Police responded to the school at 10:49 a.m. Tuesday in reference to a person with a weapon, according to Gaston County Communications.
