The City of Jasper website reports that a total of 143 votes were cast during the first three days of early voting in the Municipal Election. Voters are considering a new Mayor for Jasper, and also a contested race for a council seat.
Early voting began on Monday and will end on Tuesday, April 17th at Jasper City Hall, followed by Election Day on Saturday, May 1st.
MAYOR
In the race for Mayor, the current Mayor, Gary Gatlin, opted to not seek re-election. Three candidates are vying for that spot. They are former Mayor Randy Sayers, former District 1 Councilman Rashad Lewis, and newcomer to politics, Bowe Limbrick, who is a write-in candidate.
