Vote count is under way after re-polling concluded at 5pm in the hotly-contested constituency of NA-75 Daska with a tough fight expected between the ruling PTI and the PML-N.
As per the unconfirmed and unofficial results of 24 polling stations, ruling PTI is leading with a narrow margin.
PTI candidate Ali Asjad Malhi has bagged 10,113 votes whereas Nosheen Iftikhar of PML-N is trailing behind with 9,665 votes.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) rescheduled the NA-75 Sialkot-IV (Daska) re-polls to March 18 at first then later to April 10 (today) as it declared the by-polls held on February 19 in the constituency void after clashes between workers of PTI and the PML-N. The mysterious disappearance of around 20 presiding officers and suspected tampering with the results was another cause to call for re-polls.
