BLACKSBURG, Va. (WWBT) - Virginia Tech quarterback Hendon Hooker announced on Thursday that he would be entering the transfer portal following his graduation in December. Hooker broke the news on social media.
“This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make,” Hooker wrote on his post. “Being a Hokie has been an unforgettable experience.”
Hooker took over for an injured Ryan Willis in 2019 and led Virginia Tech to victories in his first six starts. He started 15 games during the last two years for the Hokies. In eight contests this season, Hooker threw for 1,339 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions. He also found the endzone nine times on the ground.
