Virginia, North Carolina Gas Stations Out of Fuel as Colonial Pipeline Attack Stokes Shortage Fears

The Colonial Pipeline entered its fifth day of shutdown after a cyberattack on Friday. The pipeline delivers about 45% of the fuel consumed on the East Coast.
In Virginia, 7.5% of the state's gas stations reported running out of fuel. In North Carolina, 5.4% said they were out, Gasbuddy.com said.
The FBI blamed criminal syndicate, Darkside, on the cyberattack. They statied it was their ransomware used to snarl pipeline operations. Since the group's members are Russian speakers and the malware was coded not to attack Russian-language keyboards, President Joe Biden plans on meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
