COIMBATORE: More than 150 residents of Kanjapally village panchayat blocked a portion of the Avinashi Road for half an hour on Tuesday morning demanding regular water supply.
A resident said they had not received bore water for the past 45 days and this forced them to buy water every week. They said drinking water too was supplied only once in 20 days.
During the protest, the residents held empty plastic pots and blocked the road.
“Though we get drinking water once in 20 days, we are managing somehow. The panchayat should release bore water at least once in every three days,” said S Manikandan, CPM block level committee member.
