Vietnam extends time at centralised quarantine from early May 5
17:08 | 04/05/2021
The Ministry of Health has sent a document to cities and provinces, proposing to extend quarantine time in centralised quarantine areas starting from early May 5 to curtail community transmission.
Accordingly, people who complete the mandatory 14-day quarantine and test negative twice will have to still remain in centralised quarantine areas, including both military-run and civil quarantine areas.
The move is in line with the request of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, who is head of the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
The decision was made after some patients tested positive for COVID-19 after undergoing the 14-day quarantine and tested negative twice, resulting in further infections in the community.
