Victim ID'd in Fatal Accident Near Ellsworth

A Bloomington man is dead following an automobile accident last night near Ellsworth. The accident occurred at about 7pm. A 40-year-old male and driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased by McLean County Coroner Dr. Kathy Yoder at 7:30pm.
The man is identified Daniel E. Engler, 40, of Bloomington.
Preliminary autopsy opinion from McLean County Coroner Dr. Kathy Yoder indicates that Mr. Engler died of positional asphyxia and blunt injuries of neck due to an automobile crash reportedly sustained as the seat-belted driver of the car that lost control on a gravel roadway, left the road, and overturned.
