He is one of the great minds of education in the Archdiocese of Portland.
Ordained June 19, 1971 at his home parish — St. Rose in Northeast Portland — Father Paul Peri would over the years teach high school, earn a doctorate in education, serve as vicar general of the Archdiocese of Portland, direct continuing education for clergy, guide cemeteries, chair the liturgy commission, sit on the Catholic Charities board, and become a revered guide for future pastors. Along with it all, he pastored several parishes.
