Vero Health & Rehab of Hampden under admission freeze; families informed of 23 COVID cases at facility

HAMPDEN — Vero Health & Rehab of Hampden has been under an admissions freeze since May 11, according to records kept by the state Department of Public Health.
The facility sent a letter to residents’ families this week saying it had 14 positive cases of COVID-19 among residents, nine cases among staff members and one resident died due to complications from COVID-19.
According to the Department of Public Health, the state’s Rapid Response Team is helping.
