Vernon North Okanagan RCMP were gratified to be able to help a Vernon woman recover her dog following a dognapping incident that ended happily for the victim.
RCMP were called to the 3000 block of 24 Avenue in Vernon yesterday, May 11, around 6:30 p.m., after receiving a report of a small Pomeranian dog being stolen from a resident’s yard.
The owner of the dog, known as "Chocnut,” had canvassed the neighbourhood and called police after a neighbour reported seeing a woman carrying a small Pomeranian away from the area.
Investigators were able to identify a suspect from information provided by the neighbour, and around 11 p.m., after checking several locations throughout the city, police located the woman, along with Chocnut, in the 25000 block of 27 Street.
