BUT HERE IN VERMONT THAT'S áNOT THE CASE... IN FACT, THE STATE IS REMAINING FAIRLY TIGHT- AS MORE AND MORE VERMONTERS GET THEIR COVID- 19 VACCINES... DARREN ALLEN / VT- STILL SEEKING CLARITY FROM THE ADMINISTRATION EDUCATORS ARE BECOMING INCREASINGLY CONCERNED ABOUT WHERE THEY FALL ON THE PRIORITY LIST. HERE'S DARREN ALLEN, THE SPOKESPERSON FOR PUSH TO RE-OPEN SCHOOLS TO FULLY IN- PERSON LEARNING BY APRIL, BUT ON THE OTHER HAND WE DONT HAVE ANY CONCRETE TIME FOR VACCINATING SCHOOL EMPLOYEES. WHAT FRUSTRATES ALLEN, IS SEEING THAT SKI PATROLS ARE AMONG THEN 30,000 PEOPLE WHO'VE BEEN VACCINATED IN GROUP 1A, ALONGSIDE HEALTHCARE WORKERS AND PEOPLE IN LONG- TERM CARE FACILITIES... DARREN ALLEN 04:44 TO A LOT OF OUR MEMBERS, IT'S DISHEARTENING TO SEE THAT SKI RESORTS ARE GETTING PREFERENCE OVER IN-SCHOOL PERSONNEL TRACY DOLAN 05:51 WE REALLY HAD TO GO WITH THE NUMBERS AND WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT RISK, AND SO THE HIGHEST RISK BASED ON WHAT WE KNOW IS WITH THE ELDERLY. SO WE STILL HAVEN'T MADE A DETERMINATION ABOUT OTHER TYPES OF GROUPS DEPUTY HEALTH COMMISSIONER TRACY DOLAN SAYS THE CHOICE TO VACCINATE THE NEXT GROUP OF PEOPLE BY áAGE ...IS BASED ON THE DATA. THE STATE SAYS IT'LL PROBABLY BE A FEW MORE WEEKS BEFORE PEOPLE AGES 75 AND OLDER CAN GET THE VACCINE, FOLLOWED BY PEOPLE AGES 70 AND OLDER...THEN 65 AND OLDER. 04:53 THIS COULD STILL TAKE WEEKS EVEN IN THESE FIRST CATEGORIES AND OVERALL THIS PROCESS WILL TAKE MONTHS 04:31 WE APPLAUD VACCINATING VERMONT'S MOST VULNERABLE. AND THOSE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE OVER AGES 65, PEOPLE IN NURSING HOMES THE TEACHERS UNION JUST HOPES THAT THE STATE CONSIDERS PRIORITIZING ITS MEMBERS...IN THE NEAR FUTU
