The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), apex national body representing automobile dealers in India, on Monday, 10 May 2021 released monthly vehicle registration data for April 2021.
Total vehicle registrations tumbled 31.83% to 11,85,374 in April 2021 over 17,38,802 in April 2019. The organisation said: "Unlike other months, we can't represent a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) comparison since India was under complete lockdown in April 2020 and not a single vehicles could be sold. Hence, all comparisons for this month has been done on M-o-M basis."
Two-wheeler registrations tumbled 35.35% to 8,65,134 in April 2021 as compared to 13,38,278 in April 2019. Three-wheeler registrations slumped 55.59% to 21,636 in April 2021 as against 48,722 in April 2019. Passenger Vehicles (PV) registrations fell 11.56% to 2,08,883 in April 2021 over 2,36,188 in April 2019. Commercial Vehicles (CV) registrations skid 34.58% to 51,436 in April 2021 as compared to 78,630 in April 2019.
