(PNA photo by Avito Dalan) MANILA - The government on Monday assured there are enough coronavirus vaccines and ancillary supplies for this week's second round of the national Covid-19 vaccination drive "Bayanihan, Bakunahan". Presidential Adviser on Covid-19 Response and testing czar, Secretary Vince Dizon, said the national government, local government units (LGUs), and the private sector have already prepositioned their pooled resources for the December 15 to 17 activities. "Wala tayong problema sa vaccines. Wala din tayong problema sa iba't-ibang supplies kamukha ng syringes. Kumpleto na (We don't have problems with vaccines. We also don't have problems with different supplies such as syringes. It's all complete)," Dizon, also the deputy chief implementer of the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19, said in an interview during an inoculation site visit at a mall in Bacoor City, Cavite. The National Vaccination Operations Center said the three-day drive will be canceled in areas that will be directly hit by Typhoon "Odette" that is forecast to enter the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday and make landfall over Eastern Visayas or in the Caraga Region by Wednesday night. NTF will issue a memorandum in case of cancellation in affected areas. Dizon also announced that the bulk of the single-dose Janssen vaccines, donated by the Dutch government, will start pouring in on Monday night, starting with 1,526,400 doses. On Tuesday, 945,600 doses will arrive, followed by 2,011,200 and 2,011,200 doses on Tuesday, and 3,055,200 on Wednesday. The vaccines manufactured by Johnson & Johnson will also be deployed in regions to ramp up the goal at vaccinating at least 54 million Filipinos by the end of the year. As of December 10, a total of 40,693,310 Filipinos are already fully vaccinated. "So okay tayo. Sobra-sobra 'yung supply natin (So we're okay. We have too much supply)," Dizon said. NTF chief implementer and vaccine czar, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., said more than 62 million doses are in the stockpile, aside from those arriving within the week. "Makakatulong yun sa ating (It would help us in our) national vaccination days," he said. The 52 million doses arriving this month include government-procured 18 million Pfizer doses, 6 million of Moderna, and private sector and LGU-procured 7 million AstraZeneca vaccines. (PNA) }
