Varanasi sweltered in intense heat as temperature went above 47 degree Celsius for the third consecutive day. Similar conditions were reported from other cities in the state as well. Mirzapur also recorded 48.9 degrees celsius. The Met office has predicted no respite on Friday as the mercury will remain above 46 degree Celsius mark. People are not getting any respite from the hot weather conditions in the night as well as the minimum temperature is not going below 32 degree Celsius mark. Increased humidity, which reached up to 45% on Thursday, also added to the sufferings of the people.
