Walking along the beach at Santa Monica pier, Liesel and Rick are enjoying a delightful moonlight stroll as the charming Brit chides her boyfriend for being such a sloppy eater, but as her concern grows about returning to the hotel, the bearded man nonchalantly replies it is too early to go back. However as the unconcerned man banters about wanting to visit more tourist sites, another couple casually approaches before the opposing woman suddenly slams her purse into the back of Rick’s neck, allowing this vicious distraction to become an opening for her friend to pull a knife and demand all of their money and credit cards. Foolishly not knowing who they are up against, the bold bandits are shocked when Van Helsing quickly turns the situation to her advantage with a kick of sand plus several swift blows which cause there would be robbers to lose their opportunity, even as they try to fight back their retreat is inevitable. While the feisty raven-haired beauty wants to continue the chase, Rick holds her back as they inspect the abandoned and weighted handbag which started the attack, and although sadly it contains no clues as to the identity of their attackers, a mysterious glowing vial sparks the defender’s attention which she promptly hides from her partner’s sight with the suggestion they retire for the night.
