Valley softball earns comeback victory over Rochester

The Class 2A No. 23 Tippecanoe Valley Lady Vikings softball team came from behind in the top of the seventh and defeated Rochester 7-5 during Monday’s Three Rivers Conference game.
Valley’s Mercedes Snapp came to the plate with two runners on base and one out in the seventh. Snapp came up clutch for Valley and hit a RBI double to Watson in left field, which scored both Molly Moriarty and Corinna Stiles. Before her at-bat, she had gone 0-for-3 at the plate with two strikeouts and was robbed of a home run by Rochester’s Kallie Watson.
After Snapp scored the go-ahead run, Macy Kirchenstien singled to left and scored Snapp to take a 7-5 lead going into the bottom of the seventh.
