Fears for the success of the vaccine rollout have intensified, as it emerges that up to 40 per cent of care home staff may decide not to have the jab.
Vaccinations had been hailed as the "light at the end of the tunnel" by Matt Hancock, the Health Secretary, and the route out of potentially more damaging lockdowns.
