The CDHB has apologised for the error and confirms there is no specific timeframe for getting the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
There were no appointments available by June 3, which was what the person taking the call believed was the “cut-off date” for Rowley to get his second shot.
Rowley was told that if there were no cancellations before then, he would have to start over with his first jab again, getting a total of three doses.
“I was hesitant to have three, and it didn’t make sense.”
Canterbury District Health Board Covid-19 response executive lead Ralph La Salle said there was no requirement to have a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine within a certain timeframe.
