USAID Allocates Addition $2.65 Million to Help Develop Armenia's Agriculture
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will allocate $2.65 million in additional funding for the development of Armenia's agricultural sector.
Funding, according to a USAID statement, will expand to two USAID programs, providing more targeted support to women entrepreneurs by forming cooperatives.
USAID's Rural Economic Development - New Economic Opportunities (RED-NEO) program, launched in February 2019, will receive an additional $1.15 million, bringing the total budget to $ 5.15 million. These additional measures will direct the program to develop women's capacity, promote rural entrepreneurship, and target barriers that prevent women from taking on the role of economic leader.
