US Supreme Court rejects ex-police officer Derek Chauvin's appeal in George Floyd murder

Chauvin is serving a 22-and-a-half-year prison sentence for murdering Floyd, who was black, by kneeling on a handcuffed Floyd’s neck during an arrest. The murder sparked protests against police brutality and racism.
