Urbandale police identify victim in homicide as wife of suspect

The Urbandale Police Department on Monday identified the victim in a weekend homicide investigation as the wife of the suspect in the case.According to authorities, 35-year-old Urbandale resident Dustin Sample is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his wife, 29-year-old Mary Sample.Urbandale police responded to the 4200 block of 90th Street around 6:45 p.m. Saturday following reports of a medical emergency.Upon arrival, police said responding officers found Mary Sample suffering head trauma. Police said she died at the scene.Investigators took Sample into custody without incident. He is being held in Polk County Jail without bond.
