Upper Thumb sees COVID increase of 22

There were 22 new coronavirus cases reported across the Upper Thumb by the state May 12.
According to state data, Huron County saw an increase of eight new cases, bringing the county to 3,012 confirmed cases and 70 deaths.
Tuscola County also saw an increase of eight cases, bringing the county to 4,803 confirmed cases and 156 deaths.
Sanilac County saw an increase of six new cases and a correction that decreased the county deaths by one, bringing the county to 3,675 confirmed cases and 102 deaths.
The state’s average test positivity rate improved May 11 with 8% positivity, down from 8.5% the day prior.
