The Uttar Pradesh government will establish colonies for people affected by floods if they wish to relocate from embankment areas, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The government is committed to providing relief and assistance to flood victims without discrimination. Around 721 villages in 21 districts are currently affected by floods in the state. Adityanath also announced measures to repair embankments, provide compensation to farmers, and distribute relief supplies to flood victims. Uttar Pradesh has recorded a 16% rain deficit in the monsoon season so far.
