University of Iowa students eager for vaccine availability on campus

filling up Kinnick Stadium and hanging out with friends. The moments University of Iowa students say they can't wait to return. But even more than that, they're ready to get back in the classroom. Online learning is good because we're still getting it, but it's harder for the students to learn that way. Me and a lot of my friends say that we are really getting tired of all the zoom class and everything these students hope that changes as covid 19 vaccines become more available. That will happen here on the University of Iowa campus beginning next week, when the state will distribute allotments of its Johnson and Johnson shots, the university and because of the convenience of the single dose vaccine, J and J really is an ideal vaccine for those whose work schedules may not have the flexibility for two appointments or for populations with an immediate opportunity. And such is the case for college students. The University of Iowa says it doesn't know how many doses it will get, and wrote in a campus wide email Wednesday that it expects availability to be limited for at least the first few weeks. I think that's really what's going to take this campus from being isolated. Freshman Dane Carstensen plans to get the vaccine and believes just having to get a single dose might persuade some students to get vaccinated as well. Sophomore Jonathan Fernandez agrees, but says he'll get whichever vaccine becomes available to him first. I don't really see like what the downside of it is. If it's going to help the university open up and help everyone feels safe and everything that I I feel like that everyone should, you know, consider it at least getting campus back to how we knew it before the pandemic hit last year and for Dane living the normal college life that everyone got to experience before the Covid 19 outbreak. I think it be nice getting to experience it for the first time in Iowa City, Mary Green, K C R G T v nine News
