United Way of Central Indiana issues grants

INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — United Way of Central Indiana has awarded nearly $2 million in unrestricted grants to 18 human services organizations in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks and Morgan counties. The United Way says the funding, which is supported by Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment Inc., will help in the recovery from the pandemic.
UWCI says workgroups made up of community relations staff and county representatives analyzed needs and offered funding recommendations for food, housing, health, transportation, mental health and support for youth and seniors. 
“We are honored to receive funding from United Way of Central Indiana,” said Matt Wilson, executive director of the Boone County Mentoring Partnership. “This grant will be used to further engage youth and children in meaningful ways through mentoring, promote mental wellness with our mentors, mentees, and other young people in the community, and continue providing quality tutoring services that are helping students throughout the county improve academically.”
