RICHMOND, Ind. — The United Way of Whitewater Valley has awarded $186,012 to six Wayne and Union county organizations through the COVID-19 Economic Relief Grant Initiative.
The additional funding is possible through a partnership between Indiana United Ways, of which the local United Way is a member, and the Lilly Endowment, according to a news release. The awards, which are in addition to normal United Way funding, are for social service nonprofits working on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The awards are provided to programs that support United Way's categories to make lasting change in the community: early childhood success, youth success, economic mobility and access to health. The six programs are:
