During Walmart's upcoming remote shareholders meeting in June, one unexpected group plans to push the company's board to sanction a report to determine whether the retailer's starting pay for employees truly aligns with its racial-justice goals and commitments.
That mandate isn't from a major shareholder or labor union. Instead, it comes from the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, a Roman Catholic congregation in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
