UNDERTAKERS VOW TO SHUT DOWN HOME AFFAIRS

UNDERTAKERS affiliated to the Unification Task Team of the Funeral Industry (UTT) have threatened to shut down the offices of Home Affairs nationwide.
UTT made the threats on Tuesday, 11 May saying if all theirs demands were not met they’d go ahead with their threat on Wednesday, 12 May.
Among their grievances was that funeral parlours should be allowed to rent storage space from each other and that the red tape is sorted out to help start-up parlours succeed.
The undertakers want certificates of competence not to form part of the designation number training and examination requirements.
