Hum Do, Humare Do : Reliance, Adani Ends At Narendra Modi Stadium Spark Row

After the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad was renamed to Narendra Modi Stadium, and its pavilion ends were named after corporate giants– Reliance and Adani– many opposition leaders and social media users called out the move in the wake of the “crony capitalism” debate stirred by the farmers’ protest.
Over the last few years, the Sardar Patel Cricket Stadium was reconstructed. It was inaugurated by India’s President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday, 24 February. However, the announcement was made during the inauguration that the stadium has now been named after Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Though, the new arena, which includes training facilities for other sports, is called the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave.
