LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 15, 2021)
— Do you want to expand your understanding of diversity and inclusivity? It is time to talk about intersectionality with the University of Kentucky Women’s Forum. The March professional development session and monthly “Coffee and Connect” programming will explore the concept and history of intersectionality, help you to recognize your own intersectional identities, and provide strategies for incorporating intersectionality into diversity and inclusivity initiatives.
From 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 16, on Zoom, Demetria McDonald, founder and CEO of Decide Diversity, will discuss intersectionality. McDonald works with groups across the country to improve diversity and inclusion practices that positively impact business results. In 2019, she received Young Leader of Louisville recognition from Louisville Business First. Decide Diversity is a company focused on increasing the presence and effectiveness of underrepresented groups in the workplace.
