This Friday, Abigail Von Klompenberg will graduate from UK’s College of Fine Arts with a Ph.D. in music education. After teaching music for more than 12 years in public education, Von Klompenberg began her dissertation work during the COVID-19 pandemic and focused her research on secondary traumatic stress in teachers. Her work is on the cusp of the important conversations emerging about the impact of the pandemic on not just students, but teachers.
