UHRICHSVILLE Firefighters made Easter a little bit brighter for three Uhrichsville children after their Easter baskets were burned up in a fire.
Firefighters were called to a residence at 518 N. Uhrich St. at 3:52 p.m. Saturday after a stove at the residence was accidentally turned on and burned up three baskets that were stored on top of the stove.
The baskets were for the three children living there.
Fire Capt. Wes Dillon said residents had the fire out by the time crews arrived, but the baskets were ruined.
"The guys felt bad for the children," he said.
After cleaning up at the scene and then returning to the station, firefighters bought three new Easter baskets and took them to the residence later that day,
