UNION ENDICOTT (WBNG) -- Students gave a street in Union Endicott a new and cleaner look to celebrate Earth Day.
UE students cleaned up Washington Street Friday, picking up trash as part of their tribute to Earth Day.
Senator Fred Akshar joined the group and picked up trash along with the students.
The students participating say they want people to appreciate their little corner of the earth a bit more, and keep it clean for everyone.
"Our goal here is to clean up these streets because it's our part of Earth, and it's very important, and we have to do our part to keep it clean. This is where everyone comes so we want it to look nice and not hurt the environment with waste," said Susmita Saha, the Earth Day Clean-Up group leader.
