U.S. Chip Firms To Coordinate With Chinese Firms On IP Security, Other Areas

The U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) and the China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA) have agreed to establish a working group for information sharing related to trade restrictions, supply chain security and other areas announced the latter on its website today. The SIA is a coalition of American chip companies, including heavyweights such as Intel Corporation and NVIDIA Corporation, and the CSIA is headed by the Chinese Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation's (SMIC) chairman Mr. Jiang Shangzhou.
