TWO thousands trees have been planted at Yeadon Tarn as the area is put at the forefront of a scheme to help fight climate change.
The site is one of the first areas to be chosen in a Leeds Council project to double the number of trees in the city.
The council has been looking at land it owns to identify sites for planting and the first area locally is Yeadon Tarn. Other sites in Otley and Yeadon will be planted as part of the ten year programme.
Yeadon Councillors Sandy Lay, Colin Campbell and Ryk Downes have welcomed the planting at the tarn.
