Two people, including eight-year-old child, dies in Montague Village fire
Fire and rescue were called to the scene where the bodies of two people, including a child, were discovered burnt beyond recognition.
Two people, including an eight-year-old child, tragically died and three others were injured when a fire broke out at the Village Heights informal settlement in St Montague Village.
According to a statement by Steenberg police in Cape Town, fire and rescue were called to the scene at 5am on Saturday, 15 May.

“Fire and rescue were called to the scene and after the fire was extinguished the bodies of two persons were discovered burnt beyond recognition. After further investigation it was established that the bodies were that of a eight- year-old girl and 37-year-old man.”
