Two visitors to Lake Tahoe — one from Southern California, the other from Ohio — drowned in separate incidents last week.
Xavier Olivas, a 69-year-old man from Yucca Valley, was reported missing last Thursday after he jumped from a boat in the lake at 1 p.m. near Chimney Beach, on the eastern shoreline in Nevada. Olivas intended to swim to shore but was not seen again, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook.
