TVA starting up new gas-powered turbines former Alabama coal plant | Chattanooga Times Free Press

Seven years after the last of the coal-fired generators were shut down at the Colbert Fossil Plant, the Tennessee Valley Authority is preparing to start up three new natural gas combustion turbines at the Alabama plant to help meet its peak power demands across TVA's seven-state region.
