Turkey celebrates centenary of the republic in shadow of war

The centenary of the Turkish Republic, founded on 29 October 1923 under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, is being celebrated as the Israeli genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza threatens to escalate into war across the entire Middle East.
