True launches budget plan

True Group, a telecom, tech and digital media service provider, has ushered in a budget content package combining content from both TrueID+ and TrueVisions Now Lite streaming services on the TrueID app as people spend more time online during the pandemic.
The move is also seen as a method of ramping up its fight against rival Advanced Info Services (AIS), which secured the rights to broadcast the Tokyo Olympics and distribute Disney+ Hotstar streaming service in Thailand.
Thailand's video-streaming subscriptions are expected to reach 3 million by 2023, the company said. The country's over-the-top (OTT) market is now worth 30 billion baht.
