TROY - Brittany Horton is safely back home with her daughter Natalya, but Monday, she found herself in a dangerous situation.
"As I was going up Jacob Street, my chair, which wasn't previously dying, just cut out completely. I have a power chair, this is my manual chair backup," said Horton.
She was stuck on a busy street, out in the middle of traffic in the bitter cold.
She called 911, and Troy Police Officer Ryan MacDonald arrived.
"I got her out of the elements. It was cold! I put her in the patrol car to warm her up, drove her back to her residence, and dropped her off," said Officer MacDonald. "I called a couple co-workers, and said 'Hey, can you help me pick up this chair?' It was heavy!"
