Trowbridge Swimming Pool - could it be replaced with a new leisure centre?
TROWBRIDGE council will be urged on Tuesday to write to Wiltshire Council asking it to commit to providing a new multi-million pound swimming pool for the town.
Liberal Democrat Cllr Chris Hoar says the county should provide a new pool as part of the long-promised new leisure centre for Trowbridge.
The town has been left without a swimming pool since December 24 2019 when it was suddenly closed because of structural problems.
Wiltshire Council announced this week it hopes to reopen the pool on April 12.
Trowbridge Amateur Swimming and the West Wiltshire Diving Club were forced to train at other pools in Wiltshire and beyond over the past year, subject to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic lockdown restrictions.
