Triple digits, significant Sierra snow leads to emergence of 'snowmelt mosquitos'

The recent spike in hot temperatures, coupled with a significant amount of Sierra snow still on the ground due to a mild spring, is leading to an emergence of "snowmelt mosquitoes" in some areas of the Sierra, according to the Placer Mosquito and Vector Control District.
